Summary

The College of Business at Michigan Technological University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in Management, beginning Fall 2025. We are looking for a candidate with primary expertise in Organizational Behavior and an ability to teach in the following areas: International Management, Leadership, and Human Resource Management. The successful candidate must have earned a doctorate in management or a closely related discipline from an AACSB-accredited institution by the time of employment.

The College of Business offers: (i) four AACSB Accredited degrees—BS with six business majors, MBA, MEM and MS Accounting; (ii) BS Economics and (iii) MS Applied Natural Resource Economics. The research-active college encourages discovery-based learning and linkages between business and technology.

Responsibilities 

• Develop and sustain a vigorous research program with national visibility.

• Contribute effectively to undergraduate and graduate teaching through a student-centric, experiential approach in both the on-campus and online modalities.

• Constructively engage in service activities at the departmental, college, university, and professional levels.

• Integrate safety practices into daily activities and commit to learning about continuous improvement strategies and applying them.

Required Education, Certifications, Licensures

A PhD in management or a closely related discipline from an AACSB accredited institution.

Required Experience

Demonstrated research activity with the potential to publish scholarly work in relevant academic venues.

Desirable Education and/or Experience

• A PhD in organizational behavior from an AACSB accredited institution.
• Teaching experience in an institution of higher education.
• Industry experience related to areas of expertise.
• Evidence of community and professional service engagement.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

• Ability to conduct and publish scholarly research.
• Commitment to teach undergraduate and graduate students.
• Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills.

Desirable Knowledge, Skills, and/or Abilities

• A strong program of scholarly research.
• Demonstrated ability to design and deliver academic courses in areas of expertise, both on-campus and online, including fostering student success and teaching innovation.
• Demonstrated success in, or potential future contributions to, working with persons from diverse backgrounds, creating a sense of belonging, and fostering a fair, objective, welcoming place to work for persons with a wide variety of personal characteristics and viewpoints.

The work environment is that of a typical office and/or classroom setting. The noise level in the work environment is usually low to moderate.

Required Training and Other Conditions of Employment

Every employee at Michigan Technological University will receive the following 4 required trainings; additional training may be required by the department.
